Noorderstorm

Aandacht schenken is iets magisch. Ik heb al zó veel glimlachen op gezichten getoverd! Wat een succes en wat een mooie in-de-ogenblikken! Maar oeps, ik ben zó aandachtig aan het schenken geweest dat ik he-le-maal vergat om goede foto's te maken. Vandaag zou ik dat gaan doen, zo besloot ik vanochtend. Windkracht 7 had echter andere plannen met de dag...

Gelukkig hebben Grun(n)Gemaakt collega's Sandra en Simone hun aandacht wel bij hun toestel. Hopelijk morgen een herkansing! Mét wat ervaringen om het goed te maken.

Van 21 t/m 28 augustus a.s. is - heel spannend - mijn 'Mobiele Aandachtschenkerij' voor het eerst te zien, en wel op cultureel festival Noorderzon in Groningen! Hierboven alvast een sneakpreview!

De meiden van Werkpost, Megan (Frank & Gertrude) en ik verenigen ons op het festival onder de naam Grun(n)Gemaakt. We staan er met mijn mobiele aandachtschenkerij, een levende kijkdoos waarin je op de foto kunt, met kinderworkshops én een containershop waarin we onze Groningse handgemaakte waren verkopen. Komt ons zien en ervaren, op de Leliesingel! En zie ook hier!

De kracht van aand8!

Completed this custom made gift for a visiting lecturer of 'Stichting de Kracht van 8' a few days ago. De kracht van 8 ("the power of 8") teaches about dealing with yourself and others in a respectful way. One of the 8 powers is about listening: "a human being is equipped with 2 ears and 1 mouth; in order to listen 2 times more often than we speak..." Hence the teapot-ear warmer! This colour blue is linked to this particular power.

'Lol met wol!' / Filling holes

My new old brown woollen sweater! Well, it actually never had any holes in it, but I figured it could use some happiness. I played around with Woolfiller today at the opening of the Design days in Het Paleis. It's meant to repair holes in woollen clothing, but the possibilities are endless, as the carpet in the first photo shows. I bought a little DIY-kit to continue at home. I may have to sneak into my husband's wardrobe too... This fun short video shows how to use Woolfiller. Order your own kit through Heleen Klopper's website - yes, you can choose the colours yourself. Design Nu!

On June 17/18/19 the Design days are organized in Het Paleis (Boterdiep 111) in Groningen, with sustainable design as a main topic. The programme consists of workshops, lectures, a story night and two exhibitions. We set up part of one of the exhibitions tonight. The Design days, including the exhibitions are 'officially' opened at 13.00 hrs tomorrow.

I know it's going to be 23 degrees, but if you plan on coming and you've got a woollen sweater with holes in it, be sure to dive into your wardrobe and bring it along. Heleen Klopper will be there showing her Woolfiller and you'll get a chance to give your sweater a second life! I'll show you my sweater one of these days!
