Last week a friend sent me a link to a Dutch documentary called 'Through new eyes'. It investigates questions like: if you'd be able to see everything for the first time again, just whát would you see? Would it differ from what you see around you now? What do you really see and what do you think you see? Do you dare to doubt what you see? Do you dare to wonder? What if children grew up with this sense of wonder, rather than with opinions and judgments about themselves and each other?
In the documentary, the world is shown through the curious eyes of small children. It's also shown through the eyes of Japanese photographer Rinko Kawauchi, who works with that same kind of 'wonder'. Have a look at Rinko's beautiful work yourself. Or, if you live in the Netherlands, watch the documentary: http://player.omroep.nl/?aflID=10847974&start=00:00:00
P.S.: The photo's are taken from her book 'Aila'.
